BIOFILMOGRAPHY
Gastón Solnicki was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He studied, cooking before he received a degree in film from the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. He continued his studies in New York, first at the International Center of Photography, and then in the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, where he received his BFA in film.
He directed several short films such as Liliana. Rebecca (2006), his graduation film which was exhibited at MALBA (Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires), at the 9º BAFICI (Buenos Aires Int'l Film Festival), in the 2007 Manoogian Screenings at the Director's Guild in Los Angeles and was awarded in First Run - the NYU Film Festival.
His debut feature süden, has recently premiered at 10º BAFICI where it got a Special Mention by the official jury and was awarded Best Film by the Argentine Film Press Commission. It has recently been to Viennale along other important international film festivals.
